AS usual, Tony makes a great point. What would Unitas have done if no one could lay a hand on him? How does Brady or Manning react when cuffed in the head a few times by Mean Joe Greene with no referees to protect him? Hard to tell but just as today’s brand of fastbreak football is a different game so was the more physical game Unitas, Grahama and even Montana faced. In the end I tend to believe the greatest in one era would have found a way to play in other eras but to think Brady or Manning would be unaffected by the level of violence in the ’50s-’90s is unlikely.

If we are talking about one game and one QB in today’s game I believe Brady would be the guy. The game is much more sophisticated, fast paced, and more physical. All four are great Qb’s. Each was the best in their respective era, but as with any sport, players get faster, stronger, better conditioned, and smarter. Would Unit as and Graham be able to out run today’s defenses? One game, one win in today’s game…Brady!
