Defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh signed a six-year, $114 million contract with the Miami Dolphins this offseason and cornerback Darrelle Revis a five-year, $70 million deal with the New York Jets.

Those were the two largest deals awarded free agents to change teams this offseason.

Defensive end J.J. Watt enters the second year of his six-year, $100 million contract with the Houston Texans this season and cornerback Richard Sherman the second year of his four-year, $56 million deal with the Seattle Seahawks. NFL sack leader Justin Houston wears a franchise tag from the Kansas City Chiefs this season, paying him $13.2 million.

The NFL has no reservations about paying defensive impact players. They make a difference in a team, as the Patriots discovered with Revis. In his one year at New England the Patriots won their first Super Bowl in 10 seasons.

So which of these five players will have the greatest impact in 2015? Who will be the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year? Vote now at the Talk of Fame Network.

What, is it always my job to carry the Bills flag here? How about Dareus or Mario Williams?
